Greater Horn of Africa – Strengthening Community Based early warning and early action systems for meteorological, hydrological and climate extremes, UNDRR. *New!* *Closing soon!*

Inviting proposals from nonprofit organizations to enhance community-based early warning and early action systems (CBEWS) for meteorological, hydrological, and climate-related hazards in Sudan. This grant aims to strengthen national and community capacities to improve access to, understanding of, and responses to early warning messages—especially in vulnerable communities facing escalating climate risks. Building on the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, this program focuses on risk-informed, people-centered systems that integrate robust local knowledge, impact-based forecasting, and actionable early warning protocols. Proposals should include participatory diagnostics, training, localized communication strategies, and the development of Community Early Action Protocols (CEAPs), with a focus on Northern and River Nile States (or similar feasible areas). This is a critical opportunity to support conflict-affected communities in Sudan through anticipatory action, tailored risk communication, and improved integration of warning systems into local resilience planning.
