The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) funds small, high-impact projects in over 120 countries that are eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA). The CFLI has an annual budget of $26.8 million, with projects averaging $31,000 each. The CFLI funds projects led by small local civil society organizations. These organizations understand local needs and are often the best equipped to address them. This increases the impact of projects and strengthens involvement in issues crucial to the prosperity and well-being of local communities. CFLI projects focus on issues such as: Inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights, 2SLGBTQI+ rights and the rule of law, Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, Peace and security, with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace, Growth that benefits everyone, such as women's economic rights, fair jobs, and entrepreneurship, investing in the most vulnerable, and protecting economic progress, Environmental and climate action, focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management, Human dignity, covering health, education and nutrition. It also provides modest financing for projects in response to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

The global awards program honoring the .ORG Community and the extraordinary individuals and organizations leading change and improving lives worldwide. There are seven award categories, including: Quality Education for All, Health and Healing, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Environmental Stewardship, Community Building, Hunger and Poverty, Rising Star, and .ORG of the Year.

Spaces of Culture 2025 - Call for Proposals, EUNIC. *New!*
Spaces of Culture is a new program focused specifically on Sub-Saharan Africa and modelled on the European Spaces of Culture program. It prioritizes collaboration, dialogue, and mutual learning between European and local partners in Sub-Saharan Africa. The purpose of this call is to support cultural relations projects in Sub-Saharan African countries, based on equal partnerships and local ownership, involving local cultural and civil society stakeholders, EUNIC members, and EU Delegations.
Geographies: Sub-Saharan Africa.
Who can apply: Project proposals must include a minimum of three full EUNIC members (with possible exceptions in countries with limited EUNIC presence), three key local cultural and/or civil society partners, and involvement from EU Delegation(s) in the country(ies).

The Global Citizen Waislitz Awards, Global Citizen. *New!*
Celebrating its eleventh year, The Global Citizen Waislitz Awards are annual cash prizes totaling $300,000 that recognize the excellence of individuals in their work to end extreme poverty.

SA Tech Challenge 2025, Innovation Bridge. *New!*
The SA Tech Challenge is now open for applications to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing a platform to showcase innovative solutions. There are 6 challenge categories: Digital Platforms, FinTech, Secured Digital Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Innovations for Connectivity, Innovations for Development, Agritech, HealthTech, EdTech. All category winners and top four finalists will be hosted at the G20 Digital Innovation Alliance (G20–DIA) summit which will be held in Cape Town where the winners from all the G20 countries and the guest countries will showcase their solutions to the global community of investors, mentors, corporates, and other government stakeholders.

Calling all global youth innovators, agri-tech entrepreneurs, and thought leaders to develop cutting-edge digital solutions that drive climate resilience, supply chain efficiency, and nutritional security in agrifood systems. Through this initiative, we aim to advance inclusive, sustainable innovation aligned with the SDGs—particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). By fostering collaboration and scaling impactful innovations, they bridge the digital, gender, and rural divides. Funding Goals; 1. Crop-Animal Systems Research, Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR). *New!* *Closing soon!*
FFAR seeks projects that foster innovation with the potential for transformative impact to crop and animal systems. Through the Thriving Production Systems Priority Area, FFAR funds crop and animal systems research to develop knowledge and tools that support the following themes: Crop Resilience & Productivity – Advances research that delivers crop productivity and resilience against biotic and abiotic stress; Integrated Animal Health, Welfare & Productivity – Supports research to improve animal health and welfare while maintaining or increasing productivity; Economically Viable Systems – Advances research that designs and assesses adaptive production systems to advance farmers’ and ranchers’ profitability now and in the future; Agricultural Stewardship – Supports research to cultivate efficient crop and animal systems that protect and restore natural resources. The objective of this RFA is to simultaneously advance crop and animal systems. Therefore, applicants must demonstrate how their proposed research aligns with one or more of the above themes to advance both systems. Cross-disciplinary collaborative teams that leverage the strength and expertise of diverse scientific fields are essential to both crop and animal research. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following: Resource-efficient animal feed, Improved animal nutrition, Bioaccumulation of environmental contaminants (e.g., per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances, etc.) in crop and animal systems, Efficient cycling of nutrients between crops and livestock, Optimal rotations of crops with grazing periods to maintain soil health, control pests and maximize forage availability for livestock, Incorporation of circular agriculture principles, Other relevant topics that advance crop and animal systems.

The annual I4N Award is our key driver for identifying and accelerating nature-positive solutions in collaboration with partners to contribute to the restoration and regeneration of nature by 2030. Its purpose is to recognize and spotlight high-quality solutions, promote a vibrant ecosystem and inspire transformative thinking towards a regenerative economy. Innovate 4 Nature accelerates nature-positive solutions across four focus areas, which are related to the most significant socio-economic systems in view of biodiversity loss: Sustainable Management of Ecosystems, Nature as Infrastructure and Planet-Compatible Cities, Regenerative Food Systems, Circular Nature-Positive Solutions.

The Composting Consortium has partnered with the US Composting Council (USCC) and the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) to award grants to composters and communities who are interested in establishing or scaling their programs to include certified, food-contact compostable packaging. They are open to any projects that increase the recovery of food-contact, certified compostable packaging, this includes education and outreach, trials and testing, equipment and machinery, and more.

The Challenge of Decarbonization, King Baudouin Foundation and Helios Foundation. *Closing soon!*
to support and finance ambitious, realistic and impactful initiatives that target systemic changes and offer concrete solutions to promote the decarbonization of production, consumption or functioning/organization in Belgium. This call for projects is open to any initiative that results in transformation in resource extraction and management, production, transport, consumption, recycling and waste management, or the organization of society, leading to a significant reduction in GHG emissions. The call is also open to any applied research project that is close to implementation. The call is open both to solutions for direct emissions reduction and to applied research for innovations designed to facilitate and accelerate decarbonization.

Featured Grants Program, Together Women Rise. *New!* *Closing soon!*
Provides funding to organizations that empower and support women and girls in low-income and marginalized communities in the Global South. They feature a different organization/project each month, providing extensive learning materials on the project and the issue being addressed, and promoting it through their nationwide chapters, website, newsletters, and social media. Grantees are assigned to be featured in a specific month based on an issue area and geography. Together Women Rise funds organizations and projects that address the varied issues and needs of women and girls in low-income and marginalized communities in the Global South. Organizations and projects funded will create lasting change in the lives of the women and/or girls who are affected. Organizations and projects funded will provide solutions identified by the women and/or girls being served, and must actively include their perspectives. Featured Grantees must demonstrate the direct impact of the project funded and the methods and ability to monitor and evaluate the project.
Geographies: Low-income and marginalized communities in the Global South. This primarily includes many of the countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and the Middle East.
Who can apply: Applicants must be a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or have a fiscal sponsor which is a US 501(c)3 corporation. Organizations must show at least 3 years track record in low income communities in the Global South.
Funding amount: Grant of USD $35,000 - $50,000 paid over two years.

The Asia Gender Equality Fund, aims to raise and deploy USD 25 million within the next five years to support transformative initiatives and solutions by non-profit organizations, focusing on improving economic outcomes for women and girls in Asia. Round Three of the Asia Gender Equality Fund is dedicated to mobilizing bold and equitable investments towards gender-just climate action and interventions. Climate change is the defining challenge of our time, and women and girls bear the brunt of its impact. Existing gender inequalities are amplified, jeopardizing women’s livelihoods, health, and safety. Proposed interventions will address the distinct challenges women face due to climate change and empower them to achieve economic security.

Gender Equality & Women Empowerment: June 2025 Funding Opportunities
The grants are organized into three categories:
Global Health & WASH
3rd Call for Proposals (3rd CfP), The Pandemic Fund. *Closing soon!*
Now accepting applications submitted via the Fund’s official Implementing Entities to support countries to better prepare and respond to pandemics. Recognizing the high demand for funding demonstrated in the first and second CfP, the 3rd CfP continues to prioritize high-impact investments in: 1) early warning and disease surveillance systems, 2) laboratory systems (human and animal), and 3) strengthening human resources, public health and rural and urban community workforce capacity, including workforce capacity related to human, animal (domestic, wildlife) and environment/ecosystem health. Additional emphasis will be placed on strengthening two cross-cutting enablers, National Public Health Institutes (or relevant public institutions) and regional/global networks, organizations, or hubs aimed at bolstering the institutional foundations that support information sharing, coordination across public health and One Health systems, and rapid action. The 3rd CfP launch will occur in two phases: the first phase (Phase I) is now open for the submission of single and multi-country proposals and the second phase (Phase II) will open in mid-June 2025 for Regional Entity proposals. The envelope of funding for this CfP (Phase I and Phase II) is US$500 million.
Geographies: Any country or territory that is eligible to receive funding from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and/or the International Development Association (IDA).

African Women Innovating in Healthcare Program- 2025 Cohort, Villgro Africa. *New!* *Closing soon!*
Are looking for African women innovating in healthcare leading high-impact health innovations. They are seeking to support female founders and ventures with bold, innovative solutions to some of the most pressing healthcare challenges on the continent. Specifically they are looking for start-ups that address one of the following priorities; 1. Strengthening and equipping the health workforce through employment creation, digital skills training, and integration into digital health systems. 2. Addressing Africa’s heavy burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases through solutions targeting malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes, mental health, and neglected tropical diseases. 3. Improving access to quality medicines and medical equipment by tackling supply chain inefficiencies and combating the spread of counterfeit products. Selected companies will go through a 9-month incubation and acceleration program during which they will be offered customized support based on their needs. The program is supported by additional partners including Business for Health Solutions, Johnson & Johnson Impact Venture Boehringer Ingelheim and Daya Hub East Africa.

Who can apply: A for-profit organization represented by a female founder/co-founder who is at least 18 years old and a citizen/national with a legal presence in East Africa.
Funding amount: The funding size and instrument will vary depending on the business needs and the stage of the solution.

Calling on the global research community to assemble teams and submit an Expression of Interest to one of the new seven new challenges: AI-human collaborations in cancer, Cancer avoidance, The dark proteome, Mechanisms driving mutational signatures, The nervous system and cancer, Rewiring cancer cells, and TME dynamics.

Who can apply: Global, interdisciplinary teams to submit their Expressions of Interest. Teams must be international in nature, with no more than 70% of the activity (and funding) being based in a single country.

Global Development Awards Competition 2025: Digital Transformation for Universal Health Coverage, Global Development Network. *Closing soon!*
The Global Development Awards Competition (GDAC) is GDN’s largest and longest-running program that brings together a rich community of researchers and development practitioners. It is an award scheme that: Identifies talent and supports the career advancement of researchers in the Global South, and funds innovative social development projects implemented by NGOs that benefit marginalized groups in the developing world. This years theme is Digital Transformation for Universal Health Coverage. Digital health is a cultural transformation of traditional healthcare with two awards are available:
The Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) invites social science researchers based in LMICs to put forward proposals that focus on building the empirical evidence and the actionable knowledge capable of transforming the pursuit of universal health coverage through digital solutions. Research should illuminate how digital solutions impact the pursuit of universal health access across low- and middle-income countries.
The Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP) invites non-profit Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from LMICs with existing (i.e. ongoing) projects engaged in the development, implementation or evaluation of digital solutions in support of universal healthcare delivery in underserved areas to submit applications.
Geographies: LMIC’s.
