Open Calls:
Call for Proposals- Climate Risk Insurance Product, InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF). *closing soon!*
Accepting applicants from organizations seeking to develop, improve and/or scale up an insurance product in order to increase the resilience of vulnerable people to climate change. Focus on vulnerable households living on less than 15 USD PPP per capita per day either directly (through micro-level insurance) or indirectly (through meso- or macro-level solutions). Examples for cost items eligible for co-funding: Development of new risk / hazard models, Technical product design incl. actuarial work and pricing, Data collection and equipment, Legal costs, e.g. related to the regulatory framework, policy development, Sales and distribution channel development, Awareness raising activities, IT solutions for product administration and scale up.
Geographies: Countries in Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Africa and Latin America which are eligible to receive official development assistance (ODA).
Who can apply: Applicants must be a consortia of project partners consisting of public and/ or private organizations, with at least one party located and legally registered in the country of implementation and one party representing the demand and needs of vulnerable household.
Funding amount: The ISF provides grant-based co-funding of up to EUR €2.5 million.

The Liveability Challenge with funding from Temasek Foundation. *closing soon!*
Seeking groundbreaking climate solutions from across the world that push the boundaries of innovation. This years challenge features two main themes: 1. Decarbonization- disruptive deep-tech solutions that provide scalable and impactful solutions to reduce carbon emissions across diverse industries (such as waste-to-resource, renewable energy, and energy efficiency). 2. Cool Earth- groundbreaking innovations that specifically address the challenges posed by climate-induced extreme weather conditions (such as heat mitigation, nature-based solutions).
Geographies: Global, Singapore or Southeast Asia (for nature-based solutions).
Who can apply: Projects at or above Technology Readiness Level (TLR) 6 and has already achieved proof of concept. While teams may be based anywhere in the world, the proposed project must be applicable to Singapore or Southeast Asia (for nature-based solutions).
Funding amount: Grants of SGD $1 million to the top two solutions from each themes.

Core Fund, The Honnold Foundation.
Now accepting applications to support solar energy initiatives worldwide with marginalized communities, with a special focus on projects that are innovative, grassroots, and community-driven, through it's Core Fund Program. The fund provides unrestricted funding to global solar energy access initiatives that reduce environmental impact and increase social and economic equity.
Geographies: Global. Preference given to the Americas (North, Central, South) and Island-nations anywhere in the world that are highly susceptible to the impacts of climate change (e.g. Caribbean, Indonesia, Vanuatu, Madagascar, etc.).

Community Grants: Round 2, Ocean Community Empowerment and Nature (OCEAN). *closing soon!*
Looking to support to projects that are committed to creating lasting change in the marine environment and for coastal communities. Community grants will support innovative proposals from local coastal communities that aim to deliver local solutions to local problems by increasing the capacity of local communities and organizations to tackle marine and poverty issues. Project activities should focus on developing the capacity of local communities and organizations, as well as protecting, managing or restoring the marine environment and reducing poverty. In Round 2, OCEAN will be particularly interested in hearing from projects that place gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) at their core. OCEAN is part of the Blue Planet Fund jointly managed by the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and will run until 2029.

Accepting applications for the following thematic priorities: 1. Promotion of cooperative approaches to the implementation of Art. 6, 2. Building energy efficiency, Climate-friendly transport, 4. Scaling innovative financing solutions for the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries, sustainable conservation of primary forests and the restoration of semi-natural forests, 5. The Wilkes Climate Launch Prize, The Wilkes Center for Climate Science and Policy, The University of Utah *new!*
The Wilkes Climate Launch Prize highlights top global ideas for combating climate change. Each year, by elevating and honoring innovative climate solutions, this University of Utah prize aims to accelerate worldwide progress and encourage technological advances. With the goal to develop effective climate change solutions quickly for the benefit of people and ecosystems worldwide. Submissions will be evaluated on 3 main criteria: 1. Scalable impact, 2. Feasibility, 3. Co-benefits to communities, economies, or ecosystems.

Who can apply: Organizations at all stages, both for-profits and nonprofits, anywhere in the world are eligible. This includes seed, pre-seed, venture-funded, publicly traded stage companies, or nonprofits.

Pioneer Innovator Grant-Sustainability, Novo Nordisk Foundation,
Seek to accelerate the commercialization of research findings and the development of novel technologies within sustainability. The Pioneer Innovator Grant Sustainability seeks to support innovative research within agriculture, food, industrial and environmental biotech, carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies as well as nitrous oxide and methane emissions, and quantum technologies. Pioneer Innovator Grants seek to support novel academic science-based discoveries with commercial potential. The grant aims to stimulate the evaluation of ideas and to support experiments and activities leading to proof-of-concept or beyond.
Geographies: Global.
Who can apply: Lead applicant must be from a non-profit research institution in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden. Co-applicants may come from the same hosting institution as the main applicant or from a different university, hospitals, or research institutions locally and abroad.

The Distinguished Innovator Grant-Sustainability, Novo Nordisk Foundation. *New!*
The purpose of the grant is to accelerate commercialization of research findings and development of novel technologies within sustainability. The Distinguished Innovator Grant Sustainability seeks to support innovative research within agriculture, food, industrial and environmental biotech, carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies as well as nitrous oxide and methane emissions, and quantum technologies. The intent is to stimulate the evaluation of ideas that may lead to the development of new products or systems, devices and technological platforms in relation hereto. Particular focus will be placed on projects covering sustainable and high yielding agriculture, sustainable food for healthy diets, and climate change mitigation technologies to support the green transition.

Research Grant Competition 3, The Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate. *New!*
Is inviting applications for concept note proposals for projects that address either of the two themes; 1. Using biodiversity to improve the climate resilience of agricultural, food and bioeconomy value chains: Transforming agrifood systems at scale to incorporate nature-based solutions that build biodiversity back into production landscapes to boost climate resilience and reduce poverty (open to all GCBC focus regions). 2. Biodiversity hotspots in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)- Building sustainable businesses from nature to adapt to climate change, protect biodiversity, and tackle poverty (focused in SIDS).
Geographies: ODA eligible countries in Latin America (including Central America), the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South-east Asia and the Pacific and Small Island Developing States.
Who can apply: Non-profits and for-profits. Any proposed offer must be from, or include as a Partner in a consortium, an organization from an ODA-eligible country in target geographic areas.
Funding amount: Grants range GBP £1100,000 - £11 million, for projects running 12-36 months.

Partnership Grants: Round 2, Ocean Community Empowerment and Nature (OCEAN).
Looking to support to projects that are committed to creating lasting change in the marine environment and for coastal communities. Partnership Grants will support projects led by medium to large organizations that partner with locally led organizations and have the capacity to deliver projects at scale. Projects should deliver local solutions to local problems by partnering with and working alongside local communities and organizations to tackle marine and poverty issues. Projects should focus on creating partnerships with local organizations, to scale up existing activities and aim to reach higher numbers of people, alongside protecting, managing or restoring the marine environment and reducing poverty. All projects must partner with at least one local / in-country organization registered in the same country as the project. In Round 2, OCEAN will be particularly interested in hearing from projects that place gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) at their core. OCEAN is part of the Blue Planet Fund jointly managed by the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and will run until 2029.

26th Call for Proposals - Impact and Innovation in Commodity Value Chains, Common Fund for Commodities. (*new!*)
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) invites applications for financial support from projects that aim to transform commodity value chains and uplift smallholder and SME-based enterprises in CFC member countries. The CFC provides a variety of financial and technical support options to empower SMEs, cooperatives, International Commodity Bodies (ICBs), and other institutions, particularly those led by or supporting women in agriculture. The CFC is particularly interested in proposals from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), to maximize poverty alleviation in the developing world. They are committed to advancing gender equality, promoting climate action, and supporting resilient economies by closing the economic opportunity gap for women and ensuring that agricultural growth benefits both people and the planet. Invite innovative ideas that can drive impactful change within commodity value chains. This may include partnerships in agritech, agroforestry, agro-ecology, regenerative practices, renewable energy solutions, digital agriculture, climate-friendly practices, and advanced traceability (e.g., blockchain) to ensure equitable and transparent value chains.
Geographies: Projects must based in one of the 101 CFC Member States.
Who can apply: SMEs, enterprises, businesses, cooperatives, financial institutions, and governments. Must have a track record of at least 3 years. Women entrepreneurs are strongly encouraged to apply.
Funding amount: Up to USD $2 million for regular projects, and up to USD $300,000 under the Fast-Track procedure. Financing can be provided in the form of loans for capital expenditures, working capital or trade finance to invest in productivity and value chain upgrading involving smallholders and/or SMEs.
Targeted Sectors/ SDGs: Agribusiness, livelihoods, Diverse and climate-resilient crops, sustainable agricultural, food security, resilient food systems.

Land Acquisition Fund, The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), National Committee of The Netherlands. *New!*
The main objective of the IUCN NL Land Acquisition Fund (LAF) is to provide funds for local NGOs and CSOs to acquire threatened nature, create safe reserves and connect wildlife habitats for endangered species. The fund supports land purchase, long-term lease of land and other effective area-based conservation measures (OECM).

The Climate Impact Challenge Fund, Mastercard Foundation and the Mastercard Foundation Fund for Resilience and Prosperity. *opening soon- TBA!*
Supports SMEs to unlock enterprise growth for the purpose of catalyzing, scaling-up and sustaining the creation of dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young women and men with limited financial means, including young people with disabilities and refugee youth. The fund broadly covers any climate opportunity that is capable of work creation opportunities for young people. SMEs working in any other parts of the climate value chain are encouraged to apply (such as ecotourism, natural resources management, regenerative and climate smart agriculture, blue/ circular economy, renewable energy, e-mobility, water services, green manufacturing, and early warning systems).
Geographies: Benin, Burundi, Botswana, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

The Asia Climate Solutions (ACS) Design Grant, Convergence Blended Finance. *New!*
Awards grant funding for the design and launch of innovative blended finance solutions that mobilize private capital to sectors critical for climate transition and resilience in developing markets in Asia. The ACS Design Grant will target critical climate mitigation and adaptation sectors in Asia including nature-based solutions (NbS), clean energy transition, and sustainable cities and infrastructure. It will provide feasibility study and proof of concept grants for innovative solutions using blended capital structures to crowd-in climate-smart investment in the region. The current cycle will have a thematic focus on sustainable agriculture and/or clean energy solutions with innovative models demonstrating the use of blended finance for mobilizing local sources of public, private, and/or philanthropic capital to support vulnerable local communities in key Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam.

Seeking to support new and unexpected ways of communicating the need for transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Specifically they are looking to finance projects that inspire- many charitable funders will avoid unproven techniques, high-risk projects, or audiences not reached by normal campaigns. The Minor Foundation supports European-based organizations and communication projects that: Lead to changes in policies or practices in public or private institutions in line with pathways for 1,5C, Increase knowledge and implementation of needed policies and technologies, Reduce new build out or use of fossil fuels, Increase the uptake and use of carbon-free solutions, Create positive mobilization for the actions and policies needed to keep global warming within the pathway of 1,5C, and Increase the number of voices and narratives in climate advocacy

Call for Partnerships, P4G Partnerships,
Accepting applications for partnerships working on climate mitigation or adaptation solutions in the areas of food, energy and water. Applicants must provide services or products that contribute to poverty alleviation, gender equity and economic growth in one of the following sub-sectors 1) climate-smart agriculture, 2) food loss and waste, 3) water resilience, 4) zero emission mobility and 5) renewable energy.

Who can apply: Partnerships must comprise at least one early-stage climate business and one nonprofit organization implementing in one of P4G’s priority countries.
Funding amount: Grant of $350,000 (on average per partnership) to be implement in a period of 18-24 months, additional benefits include technical assistance, and introductions to intermediary investment facilities providing a finance bridge to scale partnership operations.

Zayed Sustainability Prize- Food, Water, Energy and Climate Action, Zayed Sustainability Prize.
Recognizes organizations that have demonstrated innovative, impactful and inspirational sustainability solutions in the areas of food, water, energy and climate action that include, but are not limited to:
Food: Decreasing hunger and malnutrition, Increasing agricultural or other food processing productivity, Ensuring sustainability of food systems, Enhancing sustainable food production.
Water: Ensuring access to safe and affordable drinking water, Ensuring access to sanitation and hygiene, Increasing water use efficiency.
Energy: Ensuring access to affordable and reliable clean energy, Increasing production of clean energy, Improving energy efficiency and energy infrastructure, Implementing clean energy technology innovation.

International Grants toward Poverty Relief, Light a Single Candle Foundation. *New!*
Accepting applications from projects that address one of the following LASC Focus Areas: 1. Food support, security, and sustainability: this may include emergency feeding and starvation relief; subsistence farming, backyard farming, or soil improvement initiatives; sustainable and regenerative food programs (ie. aqua farming, greenhouse gardens, beekeeping, fruit tree planting and baking). 2. Call for Sustainable Infrastructure Projects, Subnational Climate Fund (SCF).
Seeking projects in scalable infrastructure in high growth developing regions with identified local need, in one or more of the targeted sectors: 1. Sustainable Energy Solutions, 2. Waste and Water Management, and 3. Nature-based Solutions. All projects should contribute positively to climate action (SDG 13) and positively contribute to at least two other SDGs. Provided capital should support new activities, improvements, and constructions.

WFP Innovation Challenge, WFP Innovation Accelerator, World Food Programme.
Accepts submissions year-round in search of game-changing innovations that deliver relief, foster, resilience and end hunger. Current priorities are 1) Emergency Preparedness and Response, 2) Supply Chain and Delivery, 3) Nutrition and School Meals, 4) Food Systems and Smallholder Farmers, 5) Resilience and Sustainable Livelihoods, 6) Social Protection. Long Term Planning:
Novonesis Biotechnology Prize, Novo Nordisk Foundation. *New!*
The Novonesis Biotechnology Prize is awarded to recognize outstanding European research or technology achievements that contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable biotechnology solutions for the benefit of people and the planet. Nominees must have made an important contribution to European Science in areas of relevance to e.g. biomanufacturing, industrial, environmental, food or plant biotechnology.
Geographies: European based individuals.
Who can apply: Nominees must have a current position and an active research program at a public, non-profit research institution and/or in a company based in a European country, but can be from any nationality.
Funding amount: The Prize is of DKK 5 million (appr. EUR 672,000) and consists of a DKK 4,5 million (appr. EUR 605,000) research grant and a personal award of DKK 0,5 million (appr. EUR 67,000).

Annual award that recognizes and supports innovative climate solutions that aim to bend the Keeling Curve downward, ultimately reducing the concentration of atmospheric CO2 and other greenhouse gases. The prize acknowledges projects and initiatives from around the globe that are making significant strides in addressing climate change, promoting sustainability, and advancing decarbonization efforts.
